Self Love

“Sing Your Own Song”

“Since you are like no other being ever created since the beginning of time, you are incomparable.”

— Brenda Ueland

Friendship with oneself is all important because without it one cannot be friends with anybody else in the world.

-Eleanor Roosevelt

-Agnes Repplier

HOW MANY CARES ONE LOSES WHEN ONE DECIDES NOT TO BE SOMETHING BUT TO BE SOMEONE.
-Coco Chanel

OUR PAST IS A STORY EXISTING ONLY IN OUR MINDS. LOOK ANALYZE, UNDERSTAND, AND FORGIVE. THEN AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, CHUCK IT!

-Marianne Williamson

LET ME LISTEN TO ME AND NOT TO THEM
-Gertrude Stein

This is the simplest and the most profound quote yet. We all know in our hearts what is right for ourselves. But, too often we allow the thoughts, opinions, judgments and values of others guide us. Our biggest challenge in life is to be able to hear our own voice! Our second is to honor it!

Practice separating out others voices from your own!

THE MOST COMMON WAY PEOPLE GIVE UP THEIR POWER IS BY THINKING THEY DON’T HAVE ANY.

-Alice Walker

_______________________________________________________________________________________

I’M NOT AFRAID OF STORMS FOR I’M LEARNING TO SAIL MY SHIP.”

-Louisa May Alcott:

I tell my clients that every heartache is a lesson towards a truer heart, every challenge overcome is an amazing step to knowing your higher self. As a sailor myself I know that I must know my sailboat and have the tools to deal with the weather that changes at every moment….and expect the unexpected! But if I choose to stay in fear and not gather the tools to navigate me through my future… then I will surely fear the unknown.

May you all sail through life with the wind, the waves and the weather as your friend.

PERFECT IS BORING. IN RECOGNIZING OUR FLAWS, WE FIND OUT WHAT MAKES US INTERESTING.

-Tyra Banks

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
~Melody Beattie

I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes.
-Sara Teasdale, poet

Hello Me Club,
What a great quote about letting go. Letting go of the past, things that have gone before us and things we choose to leave behind. So often we work on staying in the present. But with it has to come a WILLINGNESS to let go of what we leave behind. And if you can’t fully release the past, then use this quote and choose to make it LESS important than what amazing things lie before you. “I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes.”

I HAVE ONLY WATCHED MY FEET AS I’VE MOVED THROUGH LIFE AND AM AMAZED TO SEE THE DISTANCE I HAVE TRAVELED.  –Sally Field

This is such a very simple and beautiful thought for the day. If we merely stay in the present, and become aware of our every choice and move, we can travel distances that we never knew we could.

When I hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu last year this was the thought process I had to keep. The 4 day hike was so hard and challenging that if I kept watching where I needed to go, the next huge hill I had to climb, I would have never made it. And worse… I would have missed the magnificent view long the way :

‎”You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.”
-Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt was a wealth of knowledge and grace and has inspired women for decades. What an amazing thought are the words..”to look fear in the face”. Sometimes we see the enemy as outside of ourselves. This reminds us that sometimes our “enemy” to gaining strength, courage and confidence, is our own thinking. When you look fear in the face and see… your own face…. maybe you can SMILE…take away the fear and empower yourself to take action. Then you will “do the thing which you think you cannot do.” What a lovely thought!

“I restore myself when I’m alone.”
-Marilyn Monroe

Hi Me Club!

This quote is so interesting to me as so many people identify Marilyn Monroe with men at every turn. But here, this often troubled soul, shares her best secret. “I restore myself when I’m alone.” We must as human spirits take time to be with just ourselves. This is the time when no one defines you except you, no one judges you except you and most importantly no one loves you except you!
Please take at least 5 minutes alone this weekend with YOU! You may be surprised by the person that you meet.

You grow up the day you have your first real laugh at yourself.
Ethel Barrymore
Hello Me CLub,What a wonderful thought…that we can grow from the ability to laugh at ourselves! So much of our lives are spent trying to avoid other people’s judgement. But with it is a world of critical, ugly self speak and self judgment. The truth is, we DO need to look at ourselves critically and see what we need to do to change our lives, our health, our psyche. But with COMPASSION! And maybe even LAUGHTER! What if instead of ugly self talk, we could see something about ourselves we want to change and LAUGH at it! Try it! Hope you crack yourselves up!

Don’t compromise yourself. You are all you’ve got. There is no yesterday, no tomorrow, it’s all the same day.–Janis Joplin
My favorite part of this is that there is no yesterday or tomorrow.  When we live our lives caught up in our joy and mistakes of our past we are truly unable to live and love in today.  And mostly we tend to base the one we deserve on our past.  Mistakes haunt us and fear of not having the future we want saddens us.  Let it go!  Don’t compromise yourself! Live for today!
